The 9 Year Reading List : Our Nine Most Inspirational Books and Their Authors

The 9 Year Reading List : Our Nine Most Inspirational Books and Their Authors

We have just entered a new nine year cycle; with 2017 being the year of new beginnings. So we’ve done a roundup of some of the most amazing spiritual and esoteric books and authors that have inspired us over the last nine years.

Note : They are in no particular order – they are all geniuses in their own right!

1 James Redfield – The Celestine Prophecy (and all subsequent books in this series)

Written as an adventure story, James Redfield has packed so much guidance and spiritual knowledge into this series of books and it could be easy to miss the endless wisdom in its pages. We first read this over fifteen years ago but it is still as fresh and relevant as when it was first written. A real insight; for anyone exploring the deeper meaning of life, our total connection to each other, our planet, the non-physical dimensions of life and of the universe.

2 Deepak Chopra – The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

There are so many books to choose from by Deepak Chopra; but we love this concise little book. However don’t be fooled by its size, you could spend a lifetime studying and following these 7 Laws of nature and the universe. For those interested in manifestation and the law of attraction, this is one to study.

3 Eckhart Tolle – The Power of Now

Mindfulness is getting a lot of attention at the moment and the world is opening its eyes to the benefits that mindful and conscious living can have; for our minds, our feelings, emotions, physical body and our spirit. The Power of Now is the go-to book on this subject. When we live and focus fully in the present moment we can leave behind our fears of the future and the traumas of our past; both of which shape our everyday experience and emotional body. Eckhart Tolle is one the great minds of our time and an invaluable resource for wisdom and inspiration for those interested in the power of the mind.

4 Louise L Hay – You Can Heal Your Life

What can we say about Louise Hay other than she is an icon. Living proof of her own belief in the power of affirmations and their benefits on the mind and body.

Affirmations are positive and empowering statements that you repeat to yourself in order to change those many subconscious beliefs – that we all have – which cause or manifest negative situations, feelings and even illnesses in your life. The book also includes tons of information on the links between specific emotions and the illnesses that may occur as a result.

5 Esther and Jerry Hicks – The Vortex

It doesn’t really matter which of the Esther & Jerry Hicks books you read or any of their numerous audio or visual recordings, as all will offer the same, consistent and very clear message. The unwavering guidance of Abraham, an entity channelled by Esther, makes it quite clear how to step into your universal flow (or Vortex) so that you can create the life you want. We love the visuals (CD’s), in which Esther delivers warm but no-nonsense question and answer sessions on every topic conceivable. She helps us access and understand how we can turn our journey from what we have in this moment, to what we want to have or to be. Great Law of Attraction stuff!

6 Kathleen McGowan – The Magdalene Line Trilogy (Book one is The Expected One)

These three books have it all. Adventure, romance, history & mythology. Each book has two threads; a story of present day adventure and a paralleling historical story linking that adventure. The first book delves into the Cathars and the lost gospels of Mary Magdalene, set in the mysterious area of Languedoc in Southern France. The second takes us to Tuscany and France; a story of Countess Matilda and the teachings of Jesus. The third book details the Italian Renaissance and the Medici family; and their role in preserving, by way of fine art, the message of the Divine Feminine and Masculine principles as embodied and taught by Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

For anyone interested in the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine principles and how religion has distorted the truth of the original teachings of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, you will love these books. Kathleen McGowan has researched extensively both the characters and periods of which she writes, each book transports you into that era. She makes it very hard, if not to believe what you read, but certainly to hope that history happened that way.

7 Richard Rudd – Gene Keys

This is an absolute masterpiece. We hope it will be recognised as such, and not lost in the sea of books that are being written and published at this time in history. The Gene Keys is a modern interpretation of the Chinese I-Ching. You could study this book for the rest of your life, it is that vast.

By using this book in conjunction with a personal profile accessible on Richard’s website, you can get to know your Self (and we use the word Self here in the deepest possible sense); your purpose and Soul Path to such a depth it is mind-blowing.

A word of warning though, this is not a book you read from cover to cover; although you could if you wanted. It is a reference book, an oracle and a hidden pathway to your deepest Self.

8 Lars Muhl – The O Manuscript

We are so pleased we found this book. Another book of fiction (intermingled with Lars’ own journey of transformation), but full of profound spiritual wisdom. Written as two stories, the first is of the past as Lars interprets the story of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The other, Lars shares with us his own transformation and enlightenment, following his meeting with The Seer, who guides him from the brink of despair to a path of self-discovery.

What’s very obvious about this book is that the words call out to you, activating and triggering your own path of self-discovery. Every person we know who has read this book seems to also go through profound change within themselves as their lives synchronistically follow Lars’ own journey.

9 Caroline Myss – Entering the Castle

Inspired by the work of Teresa of Avila, Caroline Myss teaches us how to visualise our internal world as many different rooms. She helps us to navigate these rooms through meditation, intuition and contemplation. Each room represents a personal shadow and the archetypes that we all encounter, those which make up who we are, to help us learn and grow.

The ultimate goal is to truly know our selves at the deepest level. The way Caroline Myss takes us on a journey into our own Soul was – with hindsight – the inspiration for our work. A few years later we had our Labyrinth, which is the meditative tool that can be used for exactly this introspective purpose.

Let’s share our inspirations …

Now you’ve read about a few of the minds that have been influencing us here at INTENT over the last nine years, we would love to hear about your reads and what’s inspired you. We all synchronistically find the books we are meant to read and the very time we need them. Landing on this blog will be no coincidence, nor will any recommendations shared here for us at INTENT and other readers of this blog.
